Yokohama Supports the National Tire Safety Week

This week is a special one for the U.S. automotive world, as American motorists are reminded about the importance of having their tires inflated to the correct pressure.Called the Tire Safety Week, the initiative is being supported by multiple tire manufacturers.

One of this companies is Yokohama, which is releasing a series of short educational videos on its website and Youtube, in an effort to increase public awareness on a wide variety of tire-related subjects.

The first video features off-road racing champion and TV commentator Cameron Steele explaining the importance of properly inflated tires.

“Consumer awareness and education regarding tires is vital,” said Fred Koplin, Yokohama Tire director, marketing communications, “so we designed these short, entertaining videos to help consumers understand just how important tires are, especially since tires are the only part of a vehicle to touch the road.”

Koplin added that the videos will have a length between two and three minutes and will cover the following topics: how to check air pressure, how to read a sidewall, ways to achieve better fuel efficiency, understanding braking distances and choosing the correct tire for a certain type of vehicle.

Yokohama has used different hosts for the series of videos, including Steele and his wife Heidi, who is also an off-road racing champion. Some of the videos will feature Yokohama company employees.
