For the most part, the craze surrounding supercar spotting has died down. After all, no cool car can hide from mobile phone camera for more than a day or so. But once in a while, we discover something really amazing.
Take this G65 AMG, recently spotted in Monaco, one of the supercar capitals of the world. Since the G65 packs a twin-turbo V8 and costs as much as a Ferrari, they are quite rare. But this is a one-off, a 1-of-1 built by Mansory.
It features the Gronos body kit they unveiled in Geneva earlier this year, which beefs up the bodywork and adds a softer headlight design that reminds us of Range Rovers. Most of the body armor is made from carbon fiber created at the in-house autoclaves that Mansory has in Brand, Germany.
The G-Class is positively covered in carbon fiber, from the headlights to the mirror caps, to most of the front bumper and the roof. Reports suggest that it was sold in May for the princely sum of EUR 750,000 (about $1 million) and that its 5.5-liter engine has been completely re-worked to produce 840 horsepower instead of the usual 544 hp.
Finished in bright yellow, it's as discrete as the chrome Bugatti Veyron and the FAB design widebody SLS AMG we also see in this video. This is Monaco, mind you.
Perhaps just as interesting as the car is the fact that Mansory made a plaque that says this car belongs to Ka3aX. He's clearly from Kazakstan, but the only thing we can find related to this name is video game stuff – League of Legends, Batman and other stuff of this sort. It might or might not be true, but it's pretty clear that the driver is very young. The clever inter-webs suggest that Ka3aX also owns the only 6x6 G-Class in his country. Biggest G-Class fan in Kazakhstan? Probably.
