GM took it to the next level last year with the C7 Stingray, but apparently, there's a level above that. This January, they wowed the world with the new Corvette Z06. Powered by the latest 6.2-liter supercharged V8 that puts out at least 625 horsepower. That's enough to take this car from 0 to 60 in 3.5 seconds. If there's ever been a reason NOT to buy a Ferrari, this has to be it.
Now in April, the company unveiled the Z06 Convertible in New York. It's got all that and a convertible top, but we know a lot of people prefer the coupe, which ironically is also being shown in New York.
We've recently found a really cool set of Corvette Z06 photos from a Redditer who claims it was the drooling piece of a happy hour event in the Big Apple yesterday night. The pictures are absolutely amazing, as the American super sportscar is being taken off the trailer, its underbelly packed with nice gadgets.
If you still think the 2014 Corvette Stingray is just another brutish muscle car, make sure to check out our review of the normal 2014 Stingray. Like that car, the Z06 features Magnetic Ride Control. Put that in the comfort setting and you've got a long distance cruiser. Carbon fiber bits used throughout the bodywork make this at least as geekishly cool as a Porsche 911 if not more.
Oh, and if you're wondering why it says "Z07" on the car when we keep referring to it as the Z06, know that this is the name of the aero pack which adds larger splitters and a wide rear spoiler across the boot. It also brings in massive Carbon Ceramic breaks and larger rotors.
