In late March, Yamaha decided to reveal a comprehensive set of photos of its upcoming three-wheeled scooter, the Tricity 125, alongside with tech specs, but information on the price and availability for the new urban commuter was scarce. The good news is that we found out that the Yamaha Tricity 125 will become available at least in Italy by the end of July, and this sort of tells us that it will not be long until it could be found and test-ridden in dealerships across Europe, as well.
Initially, the rumors related to the price tag of the Tricity had it under the €4,000 ($5,410) mark, and it looks like Yamaha was indeed able to live up to this. In Italy, the three-wheeler is expected with a €3,490 ($4,720) price, which introduces a new level of competitiveness in the segment. While this price is in the ballpark of what premium 125cc scoots sell for, we must add the extra wheel, the novelty factor and the newer technologies used in its fabrication.

The Tricity is powered by an 11 hp (9,000 rpm), 10.4Nm/ 7.7 lb-ft (5,500 rpm) injected single, which is not only expected to make riding this scooter fun, but also very fuel-efficient, thus being a nifty choice for daily commuting and various urban errands. Lightweight cast wheels and smart engineering helped Yamaha bring down the weight of the Tricity 125 to 152 kg (335 lbs) wet, with 6.6 liters (1.74 US gal) of fuel included.

Add in all-digital instrumentation, LED light modules, all-hydraulic triple disc brakes and tons of modern attitude, plus the Anodized Red, Mistral Grey, Competition White and Midnight Black color options for the new Tricity and get ready for a completely different way to streak through the urban clutter.
