Yamaha TMAX WHITE MAX Anniversary Edition

Japanese manufacturer Yamaha unveiled a limited edition white version of the TMAX 500 maxi-scooter to celebrate the model’s 10th anniversary. The limited edition version is powered by the same 499 cc parallel twin engine as the 2008-09 model, but comes in a one-off white color paint scheme to enhance its sporty and aerodynamic look.

The styling features include special edition graphics and luxurious anodized metal parts, as a two-tone seat design and polished titanium-coloured rims with bronze centres.

“The styling continues on the inside of the TMAX’s sculpted cockpit area, with white illuminated meters that sit perfectly with the unmistakable TMAX bodywork,”
a company statement says. "The trademark ‘twin eye’ headlight arrangement and sharp rear light cluster ensure the TMAX WHITE MAX looks as impressive in a rear view mirror as it does accelerating into the distance.”

Other new body parts, such as a high windshield for weather protection and a high muffler at the rear, similar to that of a sportsbike, come to complete the look. But it’s not only the looks that place the limited edition TMAX close to a sportsbike, as the performances also play a major role.

The horizontally-mounted, liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, 499 cc engine outputs 43.5 horsepower and 46.4 Nm of torque, mated with an automatic V-Belt transmission. The handling and rider comfort are ensured by the Strong rear shocks, the double-disc front brake and the large, 15-inch wheels and the 43 mm diameter front forks.

"The result is smooth, strong stopping power at any speed. The TMAX WHITE MAX is also available with ABS brakes for improved stopping in exceptionally bad weather conditions,” the statement added.

The manufacturer, however, had not yet released any details on pricing.
