Here's an interesting piece of statistics news, albeit it's no good news for the Yamaha owners in the UK. Yamaha is officially the UK's bet loved brand...by thieves, that is. Yes, it's true, bikes proudly wearing the triple tuning fork badge are the most stolen motorcycles in the United Kingdom.
Recently a Top 10 has been made using statistic data from over 200,000 insurance claims and Yamaha's YZF600R Thundercat is in the lead, followed by another Yamaha, the YZF-R125. Third on the list is another sport bike, the nifty Triumph Daytona 675.

Fourth is the 600 Ninja, while position 5 is held by the Honda CBF125. A very interesting thing is the fact that the top 10 most stolen bikes in the UK comprises no less than 7 bikes in the 600-segment, including the GSX60R and SV650S Suzukis and the highly popular Honda CBR600F.

Swinton Bikes, the insurance company holding the study also notes that Yamaha also holds the record for the least stolen motorcycle, the DT125R: none of the registered 822 bikes has been reported stolen. So if you're planning a trip to the UK in 2013 and you felt like riding your Yamaha... you'd better install some anti-theft systems or a GPS beacon.
