Yamaha Teams Up with DC Shoes

The American division of Yamaha announced a new partnership with the skateboarding and action sports brand, DC Shoes, which will see the new motocross training facility “MotoTF”, at Pala Raceway in Southern California, getting the new YZ and TT-R motocross and off-road machines, including the 2010 YZ450F.

Furthermore, next spring, DC and Yamaha will partner with various cross promotional programs at many of DC’s key action sports retailers around the country including a contest to win custom DC branded TT-R125 off-road bikes.

“We couldn’t be more excited to announce this new partnership with DC”,
said Bob Starr, General Manager of Communications for Yamaha’s Motorsports Group, “as we firmly believe that Yamaha and DC customers share a common passion for action sports.”

“Our first call was to Yamaha,” Said Brian Cassaro, Action Sports Marketing Director for DC Shoes, “As they have the strong brand image and presence in the marketplace that we know will add to our promotional opportunities in the year ahead. They responded immediately and we’re convinced this will be an outstanding partnership.”

Ken Block, who has signed a deal with Monster Energy Drink World Rally Team, is also the co-founder of the action sports company DC Shoes, sold to Quicksilver in 2004. He is now Chief Brand Officer where he oversees the DC brand.

One of DC's newest products is a driving shoe developed by Block and Travis Pastrana, famous motorsports and stunts performer, known for clinching four consecutive Rally America championship titles, nine X Games gold medals and the first double backflip on a motorcycle.
