The Yamaha R6 is a pretty serious bike, and it was the first 600cc production bike to break the 100hp barrier, with the latest version pushing closer to 130hp. It was also part of a scandal which ensued after Yamaha officials lied abut the bike’s rev limit, claiming it was 17,500rpm, when it really wasn’t, so they altered the bike’s rev counter to show 17,500rpm (almost 10% more than the engine could really muster), before finally admitting they had lied.
However, an Italian team have ripped out its high-revving four-stroke straight-four engine out, and replaced it with a 70hp electric motor. The people behind it, Vercar Moto - a motorcycle dealer and repair shop, decided to get get into this year’s all-electric bike TT Zero race, which is due to take place on June 6th. The electric motor of the bike is coupled to a Power Shift 6-speed gearbox, which lets it reach its top speed of 250km/h (156mph) in 38 seconds.

The bike is also clad in carbon fiber and gets a very mean-looking naked carbon fiber finish, with some stickers for good measure. Having participated in the TT Zero race last year, Vercar Moto, have now improved their concept and are looking for a great result and maybe a podium finish.
