Some say that we might just see the Yamaha PES1, or a bike derived from this prototype, rolling around the block in the not-so-distant future.
Yamaha showed the PES1 electric street sport motorcycle concept at the Tokyo Motor Show, but now we've also got footage with the bike in track action, and in case this is not the masterpiece of an After Effects magician, then we have reasons to smile.

According to Yamaha, the PES1 is powered by a brushless DC Smart Power Module e-mill, loaded inside a monocoque frame, and it mated to a gearbox, which is absolutely cool for those of us who actually like shifting gears and using them to ride hard.

The transmission can also be set to an automatic mode, and the battery modules are easily replaceable. Smartphone integration is also top-notch.

Yamaha PES1 is said to weigh less than 100 kg (220 lbs), and yes, it looks amazing!
