Xzibit’s Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Has Officially Been Pimped

Some rumors are that Pimp My Ride cars were either fake or just didn’t work, but we’re not going to stick with the nonbelievers with this one. No, we’ve seen some of the works the boys over at Ryan Friedlinghaus’s custom shop did, and they rock. This time around, it’s MTV’s host himself who is getting proper handling on his car, namely the newly bought Jeep Wrangler Rubicon.

Out of pure curiosity, we’ve checked if there was any Jeep featured in the 6-season MTV show. Guess what, there was only one featured in season 6, episode 12, and it was a 1987 Grand Wagoneer model. Clearly, Xzibit’s off-roader is a lot fresher than that one, but buying a new model car never stopped rappers from trying to enhance them.

As far as we can tell, Alvin Nathaniel Joiner on his real name never went for a different tuner for this car, even though we all know West Coast Customs is still out there and kicking automotive butts. In fact, the flagship 60,000 square foot facility that is headquartered in Burbank, California comes with 12 leading-edge departments offering a range of great custom services. They now have facilities open in Dubai, Mexico, Germany, Malaysia, Russia, and Japan.

Nevertheless, Xzibit seems like he took his time with the upgrades he
had in mind. Phase one meant upgrading most of the Wrangler’s exterior, which implies the front and end bumpers, lifting the suspension up a notch, and getting a new pair of shoes.

What Xzibit calls “the second phase,” the off-roader also received a new set of lights that come with all these colorful accents and make for any petrolhead’s delight.

It turns out we were right; Xzibit was planning to customize his Jeep after all. The question is, will he change his son's Power Wheels too?
