Back in 1964, in Monte Carlo, the classic Mini as we call it today, the original, managed a most impressive victory thanks to Paddy Hopkirk. The car was competing way out of its leagues but that didn’t stop it from winning and putting to shame all its competitors.
Having around 60 HP and weighing just 700 kg (1,543 lbs) the car was fast and nimble, managing to pull off some incredible times for those days. Today, the car BMW makes tries to keep up with that legacy and, as you probably imagined, has a pretty hard time doing so.

The crew from XCAR travelled to Monte Carlo, on the scene where the rally took place, to do a special about Paddy’s victory. During the whole ordeal they drove a modern-day MINI Convertible to enjoy the good weather.

However, we would’ve gone for a sportier, MANUAL model, to thoroughly enjoy the scenery.
