WSBK Champion James Toseland Releases Music Album

2-times World Superbike Champion James Toseland announces the release of a new album with his band Toseland. While most racers are usually trying to keep as close as possible to the motorcycling world, it looks like James Toseland’s highly artistic personality is providing him with a new perspective in life, and one which is at least as thrilling as motorcycle racing.

A good piano player, Toseland has also played before with another band called Crash. However, mixing alternative/hard rock with a full-time WSBK career seems a really hard thing. Toseland retired from the World Superbike series, but this was due to a wrist injury he sustained in March 2011 during a testing session at Motorland Aragon in Spain. On September 9 the same year, James had to hang his leathers.

Earlier this week, his new band Toseland released the debut album called Renegade, and will be touring the UK as of this week, supporting rock legends Status Quo. Speaking about his new career, James adds: “It is a fantastic feeling to have my first album released and brilliant to see how well it has been received. Music has always been a big passion of mine and it is great after all the hard work that things are really starting to take off for Toseland.”

Currently also presenting MotoGP for BT in the UK, James Toseland is one of the two riders to have won 2 World Superbike Championship titles with different motorcycles. Toseland became WSBK champion in 2004 with Ducati and in 2007 with Honda, while the other rider to share the record is Troy Corser, who won in 1996 with Ducati and 2005 with Suzuki.

Enjoy the video after the jump, Crash Landing, the first single from Toseland’s Renegade debut album. I may be a metalhead, but the band is not bad at all…
