Even if you were to take cars out of the story, the world of transportation would still be filled with all kinds of contraptions. This three-wheeler is a retro model that brings childhood back into the present time, but it does it at a cost.
"Why would anyone even consider buying a three-wheeled vehicle anymore?" you may be wondering. Well, there aren’t many people that would, but in this company’s view, those who do consider one, are surfers with big pockets. This is quite odd from the very beginning, considering we all know wave riders quite rarely are among those who’d spend this kind of money on bikes. Good, now that we solved this little issue, let’s take a closer look.

Brooklyn-based studio Horse Brand Co. calls this contraption a Sidecar Bicycle. It’s a strong three-wheeler with a hardwood flatbed and a small 12’’ wheel on its side. They say it’s perfect for hauling packages around town. As we mentioned, it can also work as the thing that helps you carry a surfboard or two and cruise down the beach.

Made entirely of sturdy Chromoly Alloy Steel, the tricycle has approximately a 100 lb (45 kg) load capacity which is quite enough. For the specifics, you’ll want to know it comes complete and ready to ride with 35mm tires, Brooks Saddle, and Brooks Grips. The flatbed is made of hardwood oak, but it is also available in reclaimed Coney Island Boardwalk salvaged from Hurricane Sandy.

Now, considering that we usually think of all kinds of extreme sports when we hear the word trike, we must say this contraption takes us back in time. On the other hand, tricycles are regularly favored by children and senior adults alike for their apparent stability versus a bicycle.

This also makes them look quite boring most of the times, which clearly is not the case with this particular model. However, paying $4,500 (EUR3,960) for one still seems quite a hefty price to be honest.
