Metallic Gray seems an excellent color for a plug-in hybrid hypercar like the one in question. Black with a murdered-out custom look, or even white with blue accents would do too. But acid green, now that is quite a rare breed. In fact, there are only two of these bad boys on the planet, with only one in the US.
We’ll tip our hats from the very beginning, Porsche, you’ve done it again. Honestly, a naturally aspirated 4.6-liter V8 engine that develops 608 horsepower? Not to mention the two electric motors delivering the extra 279 horsepower. A top speed of 210 mph and enough technology to make NASA seem like a competitor.

Porsche’s limited edition hypercar is part of the famed triad, and the fight is quite tight, with both the McLaren P1 and the Ferrari LaFerrari finishing quite close. In terms of price, they vary slightly, with the Porsche 918 Spyder starting in at $847,000.

Speaking of costs, why is this particular breed three times more than the stock issue? Well, here’s how DuPont Registry puts it: “this Beautiful, ultra rare ‘Acid Green’ over 'Authentic Mocha Brown Interior,' Weissach Edition Hypercar is 1 of 2 known vehicles in this color, and 1 of 1 in the United States.” Then there’s also its incredibly low mileage that apparently shows 8.3.

Sure, the entire production was sold out in December 2014, which is a little over one year later after Porsche first unveiled it at the Frankfurt Motor Show, but a car’s value can’t raise that much in such a short time, can it?

On the other hand, the highest demand comes from the US with the most orders being registered here (297 units), so they may count on that. Expensive or not, there’s nothing that stops us from admiring the pictures for a change. After all, isn't this the reason they chose this color in the first place?
