Sail the sea on an extremely luxurious piece of watercraft. Hear the dolphins swarming around. Smell the salty air and enjoy the bright sun. All these, and many more, you can experience on a yacht. It can even offer rides with an onboard submarine. But nothing probably compares to being jetted underwater by two wearable thrusters.
If British sportscar maker BAC is allowed to design a special Marine Edition that comes with carbon-fiber crane arm for super-yachts, then us, the regular people, we should be permitted to desire for underwater fun. In the light of mere play and innovative engineering, two brainiacs from Portsmouth, UK have created the x2 Sport.

Sold as “the world’s first wearable underwater jetpack,” once it gets past the crowd funding stage it’s currently in, it may become one of the most popular summertime gadgets. I’m telling you, if it makes it to the production line, we can’t see a better toy people could think of.

With this jet pack, you don’t even need scuba diving gear anymore. It’s a wearable propulsion system that revolutionizes the underwater experience bringing the adrenaline of action sports to the underwater world. It enables the wearer to explore the ocean with the power and grace of a dolphin - its creators claim, and we tend to agree.

Drive generated by the patented Hydra thrusters propels you through the water faster than an Olympian swimmer, thus helping you save precious oxygen that you can use for longer duration dives. The underwater jetpack produces a thrust of almost 49 kg (108 lbs) and is capable of reaching a speed of up to 10 km/h (about 6 mph) for a duration of 60 minutes. What’s even better, the gizmo is 3D printed which makes it quite extremely robust.

In terms of cost, the x2 Sports Underwater Jet Pack will set you back about $2,000 if you pledge for it on Indiegogo. As usual, the retail price is going to be much higher.
