The second Sports Activity Coupe from BMW was presented in Concept guise at the Shanghai Auto Show earlier this year and everyone got excited. From the looks of it, the ‘baby X6’ will probably be a looker.
Considering recent trends and the spyshots that we just got our hands on, the X4 will look a lot like the concept vehicle, just as it happened with the 4 Series Coupe. Judging by the car in the photos, we’ll surely be seeing both 3-liter and 2-liter engines on the X4.
For example, the car in the pics below shows only 2 small tailpipes at the back, pointing towards a 2-liter petrol or diesel engine. Of course, the latter will be most popular on Europe whilst the US might not even get it, in traditional fashion.
The first models that will hit the American market will most likely be the xDrive28i and xDrive35i, maybe followed by one or two rear-wheel-drive versions, in the F15 X5 fashion. For Europe, considering the X4 will be lighter than the X6, we might also see an xDrive20d version.
Expect the X4 to be unveiled later this year, most likely at Frankfurt alongside the new MINI Cooper.
