These days, if you get a good night sleep, you have all the chances of missing a new Nissan GT-R drag record. Well, we don’t know how you’ve been spending your nights recently, but the GT-R quarter mile game just got upgraded to 7.81 seconds.
An R35 Nissan GT-R that was taken care of by the crew over at Extreme Turbo Systems has just set a new world record GT-R run, pulling a 7.81-second adventure at 183.15 mph (294.5 km/h).

The image above also shows you the rest of the car’s recorded feat, such as the 5.145 1/8 mile time at 146.5 mph (235.9 km/h). You can also see the monster run in the video below.

We’d like to remind you that the previous record of 7.98 seconds at 186.3 mph (300 km/h) was held by the AMS Alpha Omega Nissan GT-R. Nonetheless, the AMG Godzilla featured multiple carbon body parts, while its interior had been stripped.

Well, Extreme Turbo Systems’ GT-R still has its interior. Yes, they have installed a lightweight racing seat, but the weight loss was offset by the rollcage that was put inside the car.

We also have to explain that most GT-Rs playing in this league come with alternate ECUs, such as those coming from Syvecs or Motec. As for the Turbo Systems Nissan, this backed up its aforementioned run with a 7.85s result at 183 mph (295 km/h) using the Stock ECU and a COBB access port.
