World’s Coolest Electric Skate Board Gets Updated, Comes With 24 Miles Range Now

Less than a year ago we were telling you guys about this lightweight electric skateboard created by a team of electrical, mechanical and manufacturing engineers who share a love for extreme sports, based in Northern California. The super cool board was that popular, it sold in almost every state of America and shipped in more than 50 countries around the world, so now its creators have released a second model.

ZBoard 2 is being sold as “the lightest, fastest, longest running weight-sensing electric skateboard ever” and we have to say it’s quite impressive. Not only is it capable of reaching up to 20 miles per hour, but the new model now comes with an even bigger range of 24 miles.

Like the previous model, the ZBoard 2 works by the same simple commands: lean forward to go, lean back to stop. Its creators claim that even if you never ridden a skateboard before its intuitive control will have you carving in no time with its weight-sensing foot pads. Speed control is completely variable, which means you can either cruise at walking speed or race to its top speed.

Stopping is as smoothly as it is smart, since leaning back kicks in regenerative breaking, meaning you can safely descend hills while also recharging the battery. The ZBoard 2 comes in two models: the Blue Edition (16 miles per charge and weighing 16 lbs.) and Pearl Edition (24 miles per charge and weighing 18 lbs).

The new board also comes with a new 500W brushless motor which is faster, more powerful and more efficient than the previous. The brushless design allows for more natural coasting which means you can push the board when the battery expires or is turned off.

The Indiegogo campaign will soon seize since you only have about a day to save up $250, but even if you’re not going to make it $1,000 for this puppy doesn’t seam that much if you ask us.
