When was the last time you spent more than one day on something that was not work-related? Perhaps you did, but there is nothing even remotely close to what these brick maniacs have recently done. After all, it’s a world record, one that takes the shape of a full-size camper - electric lights and running water included.
To get a better idea, put it this way: last time a brick enthusiast made something similar, they used 20,000 bricks, while this caravan comprises no less than 215,158 plastic pieces. It’s the largest camper made of Lego and stands 2.2m (7.2 ft) tall and 2.6m (8.5 ft) long. Everything was accurately replicated, with things like a fridge, a bed, a chess set, toothbrushes and a frying pan included. Just look at those fried eggs in the pan.

According to the Daily Mail, the record-breaking contraption was officially unveiled by a Guinness World Records adjudicator at the Motorhome & Caravan Show 2015, which took place at the NEC in Birmingham the other day. Believe it or not, the full-scale Lego camper was in fact the brainchild of the show’s organizer, who wanted to create something special to celebrate 130 years of leisure caravans.

“Everyone that’s seen it so far has been amazed by the level of detail and blown away by how similar it is to the real thing, the interior is incredible,” said James Bissett, one of the show’s organizers. “Leisure caravanning has a wonderful heritage and is going strong today with many millions of families enjoying themselves in the great outdoors every year.”

Even though we regularly prefer Lego scale models of classic sportscars, we have to admit that a full-size camper is more than impressive. And since we are talking about size, you’ll want to know that the tallest structure built with interlocking plastic bricks in Guinness World Records’ books is, in fact, the one made in Milan that measured a whopping 35.05 m (114 ft 11 in) and required approximately 550,00 bricks to complete.
