Japanese sportscars used to roam in packs. Ten years ago, there were so many of them that we really can’t keep track of them all. But as the mighty Evo falls, the sun sets upon the era of the revy but thirsty VTEC. You really can’t make a sportscar without a turbo or two, not unless your Porsche that is.
But a few fanatics are keeping true two the VTEC legends of old with a couple of really awesome S2000 Mugens. These cars were shot together in California by John Zhang of 1013MM, each of them different and unique.
The Mugens are also cool because of what’s under the surface - a carbon-fiber airbox that inhales cool air from in front of the radiator, new stainless steel headers, ECU, exhaust and other trick racing gear.
As you can see, each owner went for a different roof and a different set of wheels, but that’s what makes these cars so beautiful standing side by side.
