Woman Uses Toilet Plunger as Handle on Crowded Bus, Wins at Life

No, it’s not the lemonade jar. It’s a toilet plunger, which, apparently, she uses whenever she’s on a bus where she can find no handles available.

The video at the bottom of the page was reportedly shot earlier this year, in April, in the city of Huai’an in the eastern Jiangsu Province, but it’s just now going viral. The woman’s identity hasn’t been made public, but that’s not stopping commenters from crowning her an absolute winner at life.

At the beginning of the video, she’s shown after getting on the bus, looking for a handle to grab and steady herself during the ride. Because she can’t find one, she calmly reaches for a toilet plunger she happens to have on her person, lifts it above her hand and sticks it to the roof. The suction allows her to hold on to the handle as she would an actual bus handle, without losing her balance.

While the Internet is quick to say this woman is “sheer genius,” a few things: first of all, there are handles available on the bus, which she could have used. In fact, there’s one right behind her. Secondly, she seems to have walked on the bus with the plunger in her hand, since she’s not carrying a purse or bag from which she could have removed it – i.e. she knew she would do this.

Last but not least, she seems to stick the plunger on the bus’ air grate, which means she managed to perform an actual miracle by making it stick.

What we’re saying is that, while the video is fun, it may not be what it seems. To put it differently, this is either some sort of prank or a fake.

However, the idea of using a toilet plunger for a handle could work in different circumstances. Do let us know if you ever try it on a crowded bus.
