Today was a very bad day for a 40-year old Chinese woman that ended up crashing into a bank, in a successful attempt to avoid crashing into another car.
According to Chinese press, she confused the 2 brake pedals at her feet and instead of hitting the break she accelerated quite furiously, as the 3-liter engine on the 535i GT has 400 Nm (300 lb-ft) of torque at its disposal.
Fortunately, even though she accelerated, she avoided the car and crashed into the VIP area of a local bank, not hurting anyone as the office was closed.
The end result? Well, the bank was more damaged than the car, the Bimmer ending up with just a shattered windshield and a few scratches. The building, on the other hand will have to have a 8-meter glass wall replaced and that will definitely not be cheap.
