Woman in Kia Rio Trapped by Sinkhole in New Hampshire

There you are, minding your own business when a giant sinkhole swallows you up like it usually only happens in the horror movies. That would be enough to ruin your day, or maybe your year if you have to go to therapy after the ordeal.
This is what has recently happened to the female driver of this red Kia Rio sedan at the intersection of Beech and North Streets in Manchester's North End. According to WMUR News, the street had to be closed between Webster and North streets Monday morning.

The broken valve was over 100 years old, and the age has something to do with it. Firefighters quickly arrived on the scene to rescue the driver. "She was still in the car and the water was bubbling out of the left side of the car so we went on the right side and we stepped on top of the drain and we carried her and her bags over to safety," says Lieutenant Dan O’Rourke of the Manchaster Fire Department.
