Few are the things that should anger someone to such an extent as to justify physical violence, but lack of ketchup on a sandwich shouldn’t be one. Tell that to this California female driver.
The Santa Ana Police Department has released video of an incident that took place on October 27, at the McDonald’s Drive-Thru on Bristol Street in Santa Ana, in the hope of helping them track down the assailant. She had just placed her order at the drive-thru and, according to reports, had asked for ketchup.
She didn’t find it in the bag when she picked up her order at the second window, and this infuriated her so much that she decided to take matters into her own hands and break the unspoken rule of the drive-thru. That is to say, she got out of her car and walked into the fast-food joint, the side reserved only for employees who serve the drivers and their passengers.
USA Today says she walked up to the manager and demanded her ketchup, to which the manager replied that she wasn’t allowed back there. This got her even angrier and she proceeded to put a proper beating on the manager: the video shows her chocking and punching the manager, while another employee is desperately trying to get her off.
The scuffle lasts for a while and was captured in full by McDonald’s surveillance cameras. No word yet on whether an outside camera caught footage of the car the assailant was driving. A man who doesn’t look like a McD’s employee lingers at the entrance and, summoned by another employee, comes in, grabs the woman by the arm and escorts her out. It is believed he was the passenger in her car.
Police have described the woman as Hispanic with brown hair, in her 20s. They are thankful for any clues leading to her identification and eventual arrest.
