Wolfgang Durheimer, Bugatti and Bentley CEO, Moving to Audi

The VW Group holds a number of extremely influential executives within its boards and Wolfgang Durheimer, the current CEO of Bugatti and Bentley, is one of them. It seems that the company wants to make a shift in power, with the aforementioned executive set to leave behind his current responsibilities in order to serve a new role at Audi.

According to Automotive News Europe, Durheimer (53), who was the head of Porsche development before becoming CEO of the two aforementioned brands, is heading for Audi in an effort of the company to reduce average age of its management board members (there are seven of them).

The move is part of a more complex plan, which will also see other similar ones take place at Audi. For example, the carmaker’s purchasing chief and sales manager will also be replaced. At the moment, it is unclear who will become the new CEO of Bentley and Bugatti.

However, the new executive will have to face quite some challenges, as the first marque has to reinvent its SUV (the concept's well design wasn't well received), while the latter must complete the development of the Galibier sedan.
