Witness the Self-Parking BMW i3 in Action

Witness the Self-Parking BMW i3 in Action 1 photo
Up until now, BMW amazed at the2014 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas with self-drifting cars and the connection possible between Samsung’s Galaxy Gear and the i3. Now, the guys from Endgadget bring into focus another interesting reveal that took place at the show, the self-parking option for the i3.

The EV from BMW will be available with a $1,000 option that allows the car to find parking spaces and even park itself at the push of a button. Using ultrasonic waves the car looks for an opening that has up to 22 inches of extra space and then warns you that you’re near an open parking spot.

After that, all you need to do is push a button and the car will park itself without you touching the steering wheel or pedals, unlike other systems out there that require you to control the car’s movement using the acceleration or brake, or shift the gearbox from drive to reverse and vice-versa.

You can watch the little city car doing all this stuff in the video below.
