At times, even the owners of traditional bikes may have a hard time finding their charger in times of need, let alone deciding which type they should buy when they need a new one. With CTEK now gaining access to WiTricity wizardry, we might get too see soon a lot of consumer products we could effortlessly buy in a lot of stores around the word and benefit from the new technology.

Replace the wires with resonance and forget about jumper cables

Instead of using wires to transfer electricity from the charger to the bike’s battery (or a car’s power pack), leaving it in the proximity of the wireless charging station should be enough, and magnetic resonance will work its magic. Of course, the bike’s battery should be attached to a special onboard “receiver”, but finding a place for it on a motorcycle should be the least of problems.

What’s even cooler is that the new technology can work with all-electric motorcycles and can be also used to charge or maintain the batteries of traditional vehicles in top shape. Just imagine storing your bike for winter and not having to take the battery off it, and not even tether it to a trickle charger. Sounds convenient, doesn’t it?

Unfortunately there is no exact telling as to when will we see this technology widely available. Still, we care most confident that CTEK has all the reasons in the world to make it happen as soon as possible, at least in a high-tech aftermarket form. Either way, we’re in for a bright, high-tech future, Zero DS and Harley Sportster riders alike.
