Winner of 2010 Detroit Sweepstakes Receives Buick Regal Lease

Michigan Buick dealers of the Metro Detroit Buick GMC Dealers Association announced today the results of the annual 2010 Detroit Sweepstakes event, a year-long contest during which more than 30 local events were held at Michigan Buick dealers.

Barbara Hargett of Pontiac, Michigan, was awarded a brand new 2011 Buick Regal Turbo on Tuesday, January 18, at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS). The grand prize actually consists of a two-year lease agreement on a 2011 Buick Regal or 2011 GMC Terrain, which will be honored at one of the association’s dealerships.

Hargett entered the sweepstakes while she was shopping online for a used vehicle. "We are thrilled to present Ms. Hargett with a two-year lease on the Buick Regal, an Insurance Institute for Highway Safety Top Safety Pick and winner of NADA Guides Car of the Year Award," said Tom Moran, of Art Moran Buick-GMC, who is also president of the dealer group.

He added that the 2011 Sweepstakes will begin next week and a lot of participants are expected, as “Buick and GMC vehicles continue to experience a resurgence in popularity due to their advancements in fuel efficiency, design and performance."

The Regal Turbo is based on Opel’s Insignia and is powered by a 2.0-liter engine that uses direct injection to deliver 220 horsepower.

Buick is in the midst of a transformation that started with the Enclave luxury crossover and continues with the redesigned LaCrosse luxury sedan and Regal sport sedan. The company its trying to reinvent itself as an emerging modern, premium brand with vehicles characterized by sculpted designs, personal technologies, luxurious interiors and responsive performance.
