Wilmer Valderrama Still Has the 1969 Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser From That 70s Show

How’s that for a solid investment on the cheap? Actor Wilmer Valderrama, perhaps best known as Fez on That ‘70s Show, bought the iconic wagon from the series for a few bucks and still has it after all these years.

The fact that Valderrama bought the car isn’t news, actually. The anecdote has been around for at least a decade, but here’s the actor confirming it himself, on a socially-distanced appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show. You can see it in the video below, and see it you must, if only to catch a glimpse at Valderrama’s gorgeous ‘Stang and Kelly’s retro truck.

Valderrama was probably promoting his stint on NCIS, but he ended up talking about his love of classics, which naturally led to the question about the wagon shown in That ‘70s Show, a 1969 Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser. He confirmed he bought it from the prop department for as little as $500 toward the end of the series, despite assurances from prop staff that he didn’t “want that thing.”

Looking back, he has no regrets. He still has the car and, as a matter of fact, he plans to keep it in his family long after he’s gone. For the record, Valderrama is 40, so that’s a long time to go.

“Honestly, it's the best thing I've ever acquired for my whole career,” he explains. “When I look at that car, it reminds me of when I was 17, 18 years old, booking That ‘70s Show and doing that opening sequence where we're just driving. And honestly, it's gonna be in my family forever. I'm gonna put it in my will to make sure that my kids have the burden of keeping that car in the garage, you know?”

That ‘70s Show aired on Fox between 1998 and 2006 - and also starred Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher. No word on what souvenirs they got to keep from the production, but it couldn’t have been something as cool as this.
