Will.i.am Goes into Carmaking: IAMAUTO

Black Eyed Peas singer and music producer Will.I.Am came on the The Tonight Show with Jay Leno to announce that he was basically going into the carmaking business with a project called IAMAUTO. Long story short, the “Back to the Future” car is inspired by the DeLorean and will be built at a site in the Los Angeles neighborhood where he was raised.

“I'm a big technology freak and geek and I invested my money in building my own vehicle because i want to bring jobs to the ghetto that I come from, so why not invest? Like I invested in making a demo to start the Black Eyed Peas, we did that, now I want to invest to have a car company in the neighborhood that I come from,” Will says.

We see the car as being a DeLorean with a body kit, but Will says it’s put together using a whole bunch of parts from Chrysler that were chosen in order to ensure the car is road-legal. If we remember correctly, Will.I.Am has a DeLorean DMC-12 custom build for him by West Coast Customs a while back.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
