Willi Weber Wants to Be Vettel's Manager

Sebastian Vettel is surely not short on offers when it comes to signing a manager. Of course, the first step for that would be to want one. And in case he's considering it, famous manager Willi Weber has now made himself available for the job publicly.

Talking to Germany's Auto Motor und Sport, Weber admitted that he would like to manager reigning world champion Sebastian Vettel from now on, and that's because this is the best time someone handles the affairs of the 23-year old. The road to becoming a world champion is hard enough, but once you get there, you have to profit from it as much as possible, argued Weber.

Now he (Vettel) needs a manager more than ever, because he needs to sell his success,” said Weber, according to the aforementioned source. “It's all about the money he can make outside of the cockpit now.”

Never until now Vettel needed someone to handle his affairs, as he managed to set up his own contracts – from BMW Sauber to Scuderia Toro Rosso, and then through his promotion to Red Bull Racing – with the help of a lawyer and some guidance from his father Norbert.

As far as Weber is concerned however, the 68-year old German has become multi-millionaire from his successful collaboration with 7-time world champion Michael Schumacher. His managing deal with Schu involved him taking 20 percent of all arrangements signed by the racer.

Currently, the German manager only handles Michael Schumacher's merchandising and sponsors, as he was 'demoted' from his managing job before the start of the 2010 F1 season. Additionally, he is the manager of young rising star Nico Hulkenberg, who is now searching for an F1 commitment in 2011.
