Will the Upcoming Toyota Tundra TRD Pro Outrun the Ford F-150 SVT Raptor?

Toyota recently teased us with new special TRD Pro versions for three of its big guns, one of them being the 2014 Toyota Tundra, following to be fully revealed on February 6th, just before the 2014 Chicago Auto Show.

The short ad gives a glimpse at the three models as they are passing by an old gas station, but even so, you can tell how fierce the Tundra TRD Pro will be.

Besides the restyled headlamps, taillights, front grille and other visual treatments, the orange Tundra appears to ride on taller high-performance off-road suspension, wearing some beefed-up tires too. And judging that the pack will be a “TRD Pro”, the 5.7-liter V8 under that massive hood must be fitted with a TRD supercharger and exhaust, which will probably boost up the power output from 381 to around 450 hp (although I’ve seen TRD supercharged Tundras boasting 500 hp).

If the whole pack will be priced adequately, I can only see here a pretty damn good challenge for the new 411 hp Ford F-150 SVT Raptor. So stick with us until Toyota will fully reveal the beefed-up new TRD models, when we will be able to better assess the situation.
