Wiesmann Roadster MF5: First Photo

German sports car manufacturer Wiesmann has just revealed the first image of the Roadster MF5, scheduled to make its world debut at the 2009 IAA (Frankfurt Motor Show). The new hand-crafted sports car will cost 189,500 euros (German price including tax), but there is now word on when is the car is going on sale. Moreover, in order to make it even more exclusive, Wiesmann announced that its latest addition to the range will only be produced in a limited edition of 55 units. Just as we said in our previous report, the new Roadster’s ‘strength, elegance and speed’ is given by a BMW V10 engine that develops 507 hp and 520 Nm of torque. In fact, the front-mounted V10 mid-engine with three-way catalytic converter, petrol injection, stainless steel twin exhaust pipes, is the same unit that was fitted on the GT version of the Wiesmann MF5. The powerplant, mated to a 7-speed SMG transmission, allows the car to sprint from a naught to sixty in 3.9 seconds and further accelerate to a top speed of 310 km/h (193 mph). Just as expected, the German carmaker is just teasing us with an image of the Roadster MF5, so further details are yet to come. In addition, Wiessman announced recently announced that visitors of the 2009 IAA will also get to see a live assembling of a GT MF4. According to the Company’s statement, only two employees will work on the car, in an endeavor which will be broadcasted live for fans around the world through a digital webcam. autoevolution will be attending the 2009 Frankfurt Auto Show, so stay tuned for some real up close and personal shots of these vehicles, as well as for first-hand details of the motorized contraptions.
