As 2017 drew to an end, German hand-built custom automobile manufacturer Wiesmann got a new lease on life after signing a new engine deal with longtime partner BMW.

With a new engine under the hood and new investors to back production up, Wiesmann plans to roll out a new car model within two years. Until then, it will try and tell the world it’s back on the market with two entries at the Blenheim Palace Classic & Supercar Salon Prive event, taking place between August 30 and September 2 in Oxfordshire, England.

Wiesmann will mark the return to the automotive industry following a four-year hiatus with a Heritage Edition of the GTMF5 Coupe and the MF4 Roadster.

The former, first introduced in 2009, was produced in a limited run of only 55 units, all powered by a 5.0-liter BMW S85 V10 engine. The MF4 Roadster was introduced in 2003 and was equipped with the N63 V8 powerplant coming from the Bavarians.

The last model to be introduced prior to bankruptcy in 2014 was the GT MF4-CS one year before, a car meant to celebrate the company’s 25th anniversary.

All of the Wiesmann models produced in Germany were hand-built and required the involvement of their owners to make each of them unique. The same will happen with the future, brand new model which Wiesmann says it will present sometime in 2019.

“This is a very exciting time for Wiesmann and we are thrilled to play a part in the relaunch of this iconic sports cars brand.” said in a statement David Bagley, sales director of Salon Privé.

“Having known the brand for a number of years, what they offer is exceptional – a true purists’ driving experience courtesy of the latest BMW M-Power units matched with an unmistakable attention to detail in the build quality and a finish that epitomizes bespoke build at its absolute best.”
