Niche sportscar manufacturer Wiesmann has applied to dismiss insolvency proceedings after filing for bankruptcy protection a few months ago, the German company revealed earlier this week.
“The management board of the Wiesmann corporation has filed the application to dismiss the insolvency proceedings due to abolition of the insolvency reasons. The creditors’ meeting is postponed to December 16, 2013,” the automaker said in a statement.
Earlier this year, Wiesmann filed for bankruptcy in the Munster District Court, joining other European companies that recently decided to call it quits due to financial reason, including Gumpert and Lola.
Wiesmann introduced their latest sportscar, the GT MF4-CS, at the 2013 Geneva Auto Show in March. The models was created to celebrate the company’s 25th anniversary, with only 25 units to be built. Wiesmann was founded in 1985 and started producing automobiles in 1993.
