Some companies failed to resist throughout the difficult times; others have stood with their customers for decades. It’s the second category we’d like to talk about since this funny Radio Controlled wiener mobile is a small hot dog on wheels that will bring the famed snack right where you are. It’s funny advertising, and we like it.
It’s been a long way since 1936 when the first version of the series of automobiles shaped like a hot dog on a bun roared the streets promoting Oscar Mayer’s products. They made them in all sorts of shapes and sizes, but a premiere was recently done and it's here to change the rules of the game. In the hopes of refreshing what clearly is a symbol, the company has created the Wiener Rover.

It’s “an all-terrain hot dog on heavy-duty wheels” which will deliver hot dogs to fans, just like its bigger, larger brothers have been doing for decades. Sure, the launch of the peculiar contraption comes in a rightful moment, considering yesterday was the National Hot Dog Day. As if the idea itself wasn’t enough to get everybody’s attention, the advertorial has it going on a proper off-road trip.

We’re talking about tackling grass, dirt, sand, rocks and whatnot, all these while a hard rock band sings a song with lyrics reiterating the on-screen action. The vehicle made its debut in New York yesterday but worry not, there’s still a chance you “accidentally” pop into it (especially if you follow @OscarMayer on Twitter to track its location).

We’re not the biggest hot dog fans in the world, but we have to admit we have always appreciated the Wienermobile, and we can’t but tip our hat to the company’s campaigns.
