Porsche is undeniably a brand for the modern-day aristocracy, but Ferdinand's first passion was to bring automobiles to the masses, basically a Ford Model T in the European format. The Beetle eventually managed to do that and put Volkswagen on the map.
With its Beetle money, VW was able to buy Audi and used its tech to make the Golf. However, other continents have different benchmark cars.

Perhaps the best example of this is South America, which loved the Bug and Bulli perhaps more than any other continent. The local branches also had some level of independence, which is how the SP2 came to be.

Recently, we showed you a rendering of how the SP2 would look as a resto-mod with the kind of power the original needed. And it's from the same designer, rob3rtdesign, that we bring you the awesome Jetta makeover.

Oh, the Jetta, a car that's loved by some and ignored by most. There's Jesse's cute little race car from the early Fast and Furious, but we think the most iconic shape is the Mk6, launched in 2010. Europe dropped it entirely last year, while America got an all-new model, but we understand the "classic" is still being put together in places like China or Russia.

There are a few body kits available for it, though nothing that's as crazy as this. It's pretty amazing, considering the Mk6 must have sold at least a couple of million units. In any case, the creation of our Brazilian artist features a widebody kit similar to Rocket Bunny's. This makes plenty of room for extra-wide rubber to be added.

And since it's been lowered, some ground effects like the side skirts and rear diffuser add downforce, together with the trunk lid spoiler. A full roll cage and race car exhaust show this 3D model means business, though we're not sure if it's meant for the track or salt flats speed record.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
