Widebody BMW M8 Competition Sticks Out Like a Sore Thumb, Has Crazy Wheels

It was 1989 when BMW introduced the original 8 Series. Back then, the Motorsport Division had a totally different view compared to the one we get today. Well, here we are, with the Bavarian automotive producer having developed a fetish for niches. In the case of the second-gen 8er, this means we not only get an M8 (the original only received a prototype, but no production car was released), but a whole family, which is comprised of the Coupe, the Gran Coupe and the Cabriolet.
Of course, the aftermarket side of the industry has also evolved meanwhile, so much so that it now packs two parallel universes. There's the one in the real world and the realm of renderings.

Well, we are now here to talk about the pixel world - I've brought along a rendering that portrays the brand spanking new M8 Coupe in widebody form - helmet tip to Car Lifestyle for this image.

Sure, this might be just pixel play, but with the tuning world now being so hung up on fat-body kits, it shouldn't take all that long before some shop out there turns this into a build.

And, I have a hunch that the Gran Coupe incarnation of the BMW M8 might just look even more dramatic when fitted with such goodies, but this is another story for another time.

Note that while tuned Bimmers are more popular than ever, this is also a time when automotive producers gets to earn back some of the land conquered by tuners. For instance, when it comes to the Bavarian automotive producer, this is all about the BMW M Performance Parts.

So, in the end, all these extra bits and pieces, which can come from the birth place of a vehicle or not, only allow the owner to enjoy extra customization possibilities. But aren't we all the same in our need for such shenanigans?
