If you happen to love cars, you simply can not ignore the Mazda RX-8. The obvious reason behind that is the fact that the RX-8 was the last rotary engine Mohican, but the list of fun facts about it goes deeper than that.

The facts vary, starting with simple ones, such as the fact that the rotors aren’t just found in the RX-8’s engine. The designers used this motive for many of the car’s elements, such as the alloy wheels or the gear shifter.

As for the more serious stuff, you should know that the Wankel engine in the RX-8 comes with a toll for its high-revving potential - the unit asks for one liter of oil for each 1,000 miles (1,600 km).

In fact, the reliability and emission issues of the Wankel engine is what caused the RX-8 to be put out of production. Mazda is currently working on a new development of this kind, but there have been multiple delays so far.
