Sergio Marchionne has yet to announced when he will be stepping down as CEO of Fiat and Chrysler, but rumors about who might take his place have already started to surface.
Earlier this year, while speaking with French magazine Le Point, Marchionne said that his successor is in “a small group of five people”, which are among the 20 members of Chrysler-Fiat’s Group Executive Council. According to Automotive News, who has narrowed the list down to just four people, Marchionne could be replaced by either Mike Manley, Alfredo Altavilla, Reid Bigland and Richard Palmer.
46-year-old Manley is Jeep current Asia-Pacific operations chief and has led the brand to record global sales. Altavilla is responsible for Fiat operations in Europe, Africa and the Middle East and has been with the Italian company since 1990.
Bigland, 46, joined the Ram Truck brand in April after Diaz left for Nissan. Previously, he was in charge with Chrysler’s US and Canadian sales and CEO of Freightliner Custom Chassis Corp before that. Finally, Richard Palmer is the CFO of both Chrysler and Fiat. He has been a chief financial officer within the company since 2003.
