Yamaha's satellite team Tech3 has confirmed having Pol Espargaro as one of their riders for the next MotoGP season.
Herve Poncharal of Tech3 confirmed that bringing Aleix Espargaro's brother Pol to the team was a priority and added that Yamaha's works squad is at the moment a dream-team, with Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo, but as things are moving quite fast in the racing world, preparing for the future is essential.
Poncharal also said that with careers in MotoGP not being very long and Rossi being in his "last straight" as far as his GP evolution is concerned, being ready for such quick changes is paramount.
Now, things with the NEW Tech3 rider have been clarified, a new question rises: who will Pol Espargaro be replacing?
Is it going to be Cal Crutchlow, who despite his amazing display of fast, efficient riding, was denied an M1 machine? His contract with Tech3 will be over at the end of the season and Cal knows he can do better with a factory machine. Or will Tech3 lay Bradley Smith off, providing both Espargaro and Crutchlow the new M1 engines Yamaha Factory announced they'll be leasing for the new season?
