Who Said You Can’t Fit Anything in the Trunk of the 4 Series Convertible?

The BMW 4 Series Convertible replaced the much more familiar 3 Series Convertible this year and plenty of people hurried up to criticize the Bavarians’ decision. Amongst the most common areas that were particularly criticized was the boot. To be more precise, it was its capacity with the roof folded.

It’s a known and normal issue on every convertible that you don’t get a lot of room in the boot once the roof has to fit in there as well but in the case of the 4 Series things are even worse because of its hardtop. Having to fit around 100 kilos of steel and glass in a tiny compartment complicates things a bit.

However, that doesn’t mean you don’t get space at all. As the guys running the Alex on Autos clearly proved, you can even fit a person in there, without even having to lift the whole thing. During the 48 second clip, Alex clearly proves that you can fit in there and tells us that there’s even a lid release button to help out in case someone wants to trap you in there. Apparently, the engineers though about it as well when putting the car together!

All jokes aside, considering the size of the roof and of the boot, the 4 Series Convertible isn’t all that bad in this department. However, you always have to keep in mind that this is a CONVERTIBLE and avoid the silly comparisons with sedans and/or coupes.
