White Shelby F-150 Super Snake on Vossen Forged Wheels Is the Stormtrooper Truck

The TRX is the coolest performance truck right now. But what do you do if you're part of the Ford family and wouldn't be caught dead in a Dodge/Ram? Well, there's still the option of a Shelby F-150 Super Snake.

It's going to be quite tricky to get your hands on one of just 250 examples that are supposed to exist for the North American market. But they're not obscenely expensive, as the supercharged version stickers for $93,400 while the standard 395 horsepower V8 is yours for $86,000. Shelby has been producing high-output machines since the early 1960s. Over a year ago, the company turned its attention to the outgoing F-150 to create a snake with more practicality than your usual Mustangs. It's also got a powertrain that puts the Raptor to shame.

But our favorite part of the F-150 Super Snake is the look. This limited edition truck is like stepping back in time to the era of the Ford Lightning. The body kit is sporty, with all the panels painted the same color. Basically, it's a pickup that's more car-like.

Under the hood is a 5.0-liter V8, basically the same Coyote that powers the Mustang. But add in the whine of the Whipple supercharger and the rumble of the Borla exhaust system and you have a spine-tingling experience that's impossible to resist.

While Shelby F-150 trucks are rare, the ones that do exist have a very similar look, with the double stripes and classic-looking 5-spoke wheels. This particular unit bucks the trend, however, by adopting a modern "stormtrooper" look, which copies the famous uniform of the Star Wars soldiers.

An all-white body is accentuated by a few well-placed dark elements and a new set of Hybrid Forged HF6-3 alloys via Vossen. These are 24-inch lightweight wheels that probably work better on a race track than in an off-road scenario.
