So what do you do when you see a 6 ft (1.8 m) tall fury animal weighing about 450 lbs (200 kg) walking towards your newly bought Toyota Prius? We’ll give you a hint: try staying calm. That’s the theory anyway, but it didn’t seem to work that good for these motorists in Sun City, Arizona whom daily commute got disrupted by two llamas who bolted through the street running away from the people who wanted to catch them.
It took about 45 minutes for the group of people and police to finally get a grip of the fury four-legged animals. It was a scene worth mentioning, as the group were running with-and trying to capture-two spooked llamas. The South American camelids were being delivered to an assisted-living facility to provide therapy for a former llama-rancher.
The two runaways were rather doing the black sheep-act as they managed to bolt from the trailer that was transporting the herd the moment its doors opened. As you already guessed by now, the animals were quite the delight for all the passer-byes who did not waste the chance to take as many pictures and videos as possible.
As to the gran finale, it appears nobody got hurt. According to Arizona Central, Maricopa Country Sheriff’s Office pose members tried to corral the llamas with their SUVs as they moved from a field into a neighborhood, but were unable to stop them from bolting away. The runaway animals were eventually caught by three onlookers.
