When Jay Kay's 4-Day-Old Green LaFerrari Was Baptized on the Goodwood Hillclimb

These days, more and more high-octane machine owners laugh in the face of engine break-in procedures and some of these episodes are more famous than others. One the most special we've witnessed over the last few years dates back to 2014, when Jamiroquai front man Jay Kay baptized his LaFerrari on the Goodwood Hillclimb.

At the time, the Ferrari halo car was four days old (he had taken delivery of the machine four days before the run), but this didn't stop the singer from exploring the potential of the hybrid.

Jay Kay dipped his toe into the 950 hp (make that 960 PS) of the hypercar, but the most visible part of the experience obviously had to do with the green hue of the car.

In the piece of footage below, the artist explains how important the color is to him, while also telling the tale of the carbon fiber roof on his LaF. Being an avid car collector, Jay wanted to make the most out of the Maranello machine, so he went for the CF roof to reduce weight and lower the center of gravity of the car at the same time.

We are now about one year and a half away from the moment when Jay introduced the world to his Green LaF. Fortunately for him, we have yet to see another owner going for a shade of the same color. With 499 units built, that remains a possibility, but given the internet's thirst for Ferrari hybrids, we expect to get wind of such a move if that happens to be the case.

As those of you who are familiar with Jay Kay's vehicle history know, the man is far from enjoying his first Ferrari halo car. Jamiroquai's leading man has fallen for the charms of both the Enzo and the F40 in the past. And no, these were not the only Prancing Horses he acquired.

P.S.: Yes, we too think of Nick Mason's LaFerrari when seeing the footage below.
