There’s a big wave happening right now in the camper van world. Maybe it’s all based on the promise that someday we’re all going to be able to get back to our regular lives. Whatever it’s based on, the one camper you need to see is this.
It’s called the Torino T2 camper van and it comes from Australian-based Trakka. If you haven’t heard of this team yet, you really need to pay attention as the products they push out are simply amazing. We’ve already brought to light one of their outdoor four-wheeling monsters, the Trakkadu AT. If you happened to miss it, click that link you just passed.

As for the Torino, wow! The base for this mobile home is a Fat Ducato XLWB with a 9-speed automatic transmission driving the front wheels. The 180 Multijet2 Turbo diesel engine puts out 130 kW (178 HP/180 PS) and a wholesome 450 Nm (332 lb-ft) of torque. If you’re worried about making it to your destination, don’t be, you’ll get there just fine.

As for the interior space provided for living, a height of 6.3 ft (1.93 m) is well within average standards of human height. The cargo bed also comes with dimensions large enough to include all the necessary equipment to survive for as long as there’s water, food, and fuel.

Speaking of what is needed to survive, let’s have a look and see what’s inside. The first thing we need to mention are the driver and passenger seats as they too make up part of the living space. If you and the spouse feel like taking a meal break while on the road, all you have to do is pull over, turn the seats around and enjoy. You’ll find the dining room table available, which also looks like it can be removed to offer a bit more space.

Immediately to the left of the table as we’re looking towards the rear of the van, we can see some storage space, but also a hidden refrigerator unit. Across from it, there's the kitchen. Here we can find a diesel stovetop ready with a sink and folding faucet. In addition, there’s a ton of storage space under these two appliances fit for spices to silverware and everything in between.

Across from the sink and back to the side with the fridge, we are shown access to a shower, toilet with adjustable positions, and a sink in which to brush your teeth or whatever you do in the morning. Honestly, as small as this space may seem, you really don’t need much else to make sure you’re clean.

The remaining space of the cargo bed is reserved for the sleeping quarters. When the camper is in motion and no one is taking a nap, this space reveals two separate single beds. But if things get a little warm, the two singles can easily be united as to create one large bed to roll around in (wink wink).

As is, the base Torino package starts off at $142,500. Quite a lot if you ask me. But hang on a minute, that can’t be right. Oh, yeah. The Trakka team is Australian so that price is actually around $110,000 U.S. dollars. Now, that’s a bit more like it. So, if you feel that this is the sort of vehicle you want to take a closer look at, click here and take matters into your own hands.
