Despite the arrival of the Huracan Evo, the Huracan Performante remains the one to have. Customers looking for additional suck-squeeze-bang-blow can call up Wheelsandmore in Germany, upgrading the 5.2-liter naturally aspirated V10 to 666 PS (657 horsepower).
The modified software for the engine control unit along with an active-valve exhaust system are responsible for this improvement, but Wheelsandmore doesn’t stop there. Center-locking wheels are also available, measuring 20 inches up front and 21 inches at the rear. Matching tires are also offered from either Pirelli or Michelin, measuring 245/30 and 325/25.

Lowering springs? Wheelsandmore is much obliged to fit those as well, bringing the ground clearance down by 30 millimeters (1.18 inches). This might be problematic when driving up a driveway, so don’t forget to option the lift kit before tuning the Huracan Performante this way.

These modifications are also available for the drop-top spyder, which is even more dramatic than the fixed-head coupe because you’re capable of hearing the engine a lot better. As far as the exterior design is concerned, both body styles of the Huracan Performante are drop-dead gorgeous.

Introduced at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show, the most track-focused Huracan entitled to wear a license plate managed to set a lap time of 6 minutes and 52 seconds at the Nürburgring Nordschleife with Marco Mapelli in the driver’s seat. Porsche took the record from Lamborghini with the limited-run 911 GT2 RS, which posted a lap time of 6 minutes and 47 seconds.

When it was new in 2017, the Huracan Performante used to retail at $274,930 in the United States of America. That’s a $30,000 premium over the bone-stock model, and $308,859 used to be the retail price for the Huracan Performante Spyder. As for the Huracan Evo, the newest member of the family is $261,274 and matches the Huracan Performante in terms of output.

Going forward, Lamborghini confirmed the successors of the V10- and V12-engined supercars will be hybridized in order to comply with the increasingly stringent emissions standards. On the upside, electrification also translates to a boost in straight-line performance.
