Wheelie Becomes Wheelol

A very good caption for the picture above would read “if you can see this, it means you’re doing it wrong”. However, it will be quite long until such videos will stop flooding the internet, if they ever would (which I sincerely doubt).
There has to be something almost magic to stunt riding on public roads, because I can’t really seem to be able and explain why these guys are doing it. In many places around the world voluntary wheelies are illegal, and they can bring in hefty fines and more, but money, bike getting impounded or the license suspended is the least of the bad things which can happen.

Rider safety is in fact the major thing behind banning street stunts. It was more than once when a guy crashing a wheelie while riding in a group cause multiple other fellows to come off their bikes and in more extreme cases the fallen rider was even ran over by his peers before they crashed.

Honestly, I really enjoy watching good stunt riding, but being halted for 1 hour on the highway just because an idiot wanted “the world to see” who much better than Ponomareff he was is way off. I totally agree with the fines and all the other penalties for such fellows, especially as there are so many closed and almost deserted roads they can practice on.

And when they believe they’re ready’ there’s even a stunt riding championship to have their shot at glory. Does a wheelol count as a successful stunt?
