To celebrate the Name Your Car Day in the US, MINI’s North American branch decided to ask its customers what names their cars have and, believe it or not, thousands hurried up to answer the call.
Just as the video below says, most of the MINI owners consider their cars members of their families and, therefore, it is only fitting that they also get a name once they come into their lives. Heck, even around the office here at autoevolution we name our cars and even the testers we drive from time to time if we feel a particular connection to them.

Therefore, as MINI asked the members of its community to share the names of their cars, we’re also asking you to tell us what you call your daily driver. Of course, we’re not limiting you to MINI vehicles, as we’re encouraging you to tell us the make and model and the nickname you chose.

As for the video below, it has been made in the old-fashion way of early YouTube videos when people used big coils of paper to express what they meant, and that’s where we get to see the over 100 names people sent over to MINI USA.

I guess that it would also depend on the car’s configuration or maybe some particulars they find interesting. For example, some people name their cars depending on the day they received it. One colleague, for instance, named his car after a saint that was celebrated the day of the delivery, Patrick being a red Volkswagen Polo that has nothing to do with Ireland, by the way.

Either way, we’re more than interested to learn about your own take on the matter, the name of your cars, and how you came up with them. Feel free to tell us all about it in the comments, below. And no, you don't have to write a song like MINI did.
