What Women Hate About Cars

Now that the housewife era has become something so old-fashioned as the unpolished stone-age and since many women have entered some once strictly-male areas, it seems to be the right time for them to take the bull by the horns... or at least by the wheel.

Of course, it's difficult to fight  the stereotypes to prove women are excellent drivers just like men but, let's face it: men and women could be equal in theory, yet, in fact, there are things  they do and perceive differently. Take, for instance, the things that ladies hate about four-wheeled vehicles and they will prove that men actually adore them!

Buying the car

Women are magnificent buyers. They could spend weeks only going shopping,  try thousands of clothing articles and buy nothing, wander for hours through shops that tout sales but when it comes to buying cars, things turn 180 degrees. In fact, they become easily bored and start to yawn when the dealer explains what extraordinary technical details the desired car possesses.

Who cares about all those creepy numbers when all they want is just a car that's agile, has good visibility, is easy to drive and of course, looks sexy? Many desire reasonable prices, low running costs and, if possible, a lot of storage place as women like to carry plenty of items even  if unnecessary. And let's not ignore the key factors that make ladies really happy about the car of their dreams: safety and fun-to-drive.

Do the laundry!

Well, women might be used to their ancient housekeeping and cleaning responsibilities, yet they won't get accustomed so easily to washing their precious four-wheeled gem. It may be fun to drive, exciting to boast about it and nice to admire, but do you I really have to clean it? The inside as well?

The difference here between males and females is that a man will always enjoy washing his beloved motor, while a woman will always have it washed.

Reading the car manual

Women are good readers, actually most of world's literature is written because of and for them. However, the car manual is not exactly considered to be among a woman's favorite novels. As a matter of fact, to be gentle, anything that's related to technical details is just a piece of crap. For men, on the other hand, anything that contains the word “technical” becomes a Nobel-prize winning writing.

Car care

According to the general opinion, women tend to be sensitive, delicate and good-caring beings. A woman cares for her make-up, is interested in the well-growing of her babies, pays attention to details and would always say to her husband when going on a journey: Take care! Still, the "car care" combination simply doesn't match the profile.

Female strong beliefs show us a car is not worth paying more attention than driving and parking it.

Mind the language!

Words mean a lot for women. When men don't say them, it's a tragedy. Women assert themselves as good communicators that use a high-developed vocabulary. Still, an error must have happened in the system as the car folder is empty! Words such as brake fluid leakage, engine oil, engine coolant, CV joint boots and automatic transmission fluid are simply absent from the female drivers' heads. On the contrary, men might not always say what women want to hear, but they're proud to confess they've  fixed the noise coming from the engine!

Refueling

I am an attractive, intelligent, interesting, well-dressed woman. How come there's no automatic refueling service? Men simply don't understand that I absolutely refuse to get dirty at the gas station! It's true most women enjoy  driving to the full but when the gas sign shows low... game over!

Still, a cool thing about many gas stations is that you can have somebody else refuel the car. Then, why bother?!

Changing car tires

In women's eyes a car's good while it moves. The moment the mechanism seems to be out of order and stops rolling, the spell is broken. Especially if we are speaking about flat tires. Women might be eager to learn about how to do and appear as interested listeners but when they are practically put in the situation to actually do it, one might think it's a lot easier to get the car pushed by the edge of the road and call for a taxi. Her boyfriend/husband/father/brother/male relative will come later and fix the problem.

The true challenge: Parking!

Although female drivers don't actually admit it, many of them find the parking part the most difficult. The fact is that parking spaces are not designed according to women's ideas and therefore, they believe this process becomes really troublesome. The truth is that women rather prefer wide areas than the tiny marked spaces designed to crowd your car. It sometimes becomes so time-wasting until you manage to place your car there!

No matter how good female drivers are, there'll always be something to complain about. Whether it's about car maintenance or cleaning, reading the instructions or repairing it, women will never actually get used to it. Or at least, not as long as there's always someone ready to give them a hand...
